Holograph of Kipling's story "The elephant and the lark's nest" written for the March 26, 1900 issue of "The Friend". Includes engraved portrait of Kipling signed by the engraver S. Hollyer, additional etching of Rottingdean with small portrait of Kipling with caption: "Rudyard Kipling-Rottingdean" also signed by Hollyer. Newspaper clipping from the "Friend" in Blomfontein, South Africa with numerous handwritten proofreader corrections by Kipling. Caption title of the newspaper clipping reads: "Fables for the Staff. The elephant and the lark's nest."
